The bizarre and beautiful photography of Google Streetview

Google has spent 7 years photographing the worlds roads, paths and walkways, resulting in Streetview, a virtual journey to almost any street in the world. For the past 3 years artist Jon Rafman has been digging through these images in search of the best moments captured by the 9 cameras mounted atop the Google vehicles.

His website is a single page of constantly updated imagery that takes us from grim Soviet-era architecture somewhere in Eastern Europe to lonely outcrops at the end of the earth.

The curated collection of images span the bizarre and beautiful spectrum of humanity, and very occasionally the bizarrely beautiful, too.
